Savvy Park Runrz, a running club for all.

We are an England Athletics affiliated club; who are a group of runners of all abilities and experiences, who came together to have fun, support and encourage one another and feel better about ourselves both physically and mentally… as well as raising money for charity along the way.

A bit about us

We are a running club based in Savile Park, Cricket Club, Castleford, which has a rich history at the heart of it.

We are much more than just a running club; we are working hard to to help improve the health and well-being of the local community as well develop the park for fellow users, and are the main drives of the Friends of Savile Park.

Our Runs

We have weekly runs, where all levels are welcome. But if you’re a total beginner then let us know and we will support and get you up to speed, we have regular Couch to 5k – “our philosophy is no matter how slow you go you are lapping those on the couch“… we are here to help you find the confidence… you have made the first stride and visited this page!

We hold our runs on Monday and Wednesday at 18.30. Monday is ‘Motivational Monday’… it will help new runners and existing runners get back into the stride. We have avoided Thursday, as we know our friends the Methley Striders run on that day.

Membership

We are a members club, with the aim to keep costs down at an affordable level, with money reinvested back in to the club. In our first year 2021-22, we made the decision to proudly support MND Association, by wearing their logo on our club vests and donating the profits to the worthwhile cause!

If wish to come for a run before signing up, you are more than welcome, we offer the first two taster sessions for free, then you have the option of signing up or paying £1 per run. For any questions, or to let us know you are coming please get in touch on info@savvyparkrunrz.co.uk

We have a number of England Athletics qualified Run Leads and Coaches are all different, with diverse lives, styles and backgrounds, but who are all ultimately kind, committed and inspirational… and as important with a wealth of knowledge as so our amazing members!
