Whether you’re heading to your first parkrun, working towards a faster 5K, training for a marathon or taking on an ultra, you’ll find people to run with and people cheering you on.

More than miles
Savvy Park Runrz began with a simple idea: running is better when people feel they belong.
We’re an England Athletics affiliated club with members of different ages, backgrounds, abilities and ambitions. You’ll find runners enjoying their first events alongside people training for personal bests, marathons and ultramarathons. We support each other’s goals, celebrate the big moments and notice the smaller wins along the way.
Our home is Savile Park and Castleford Cricket Club. Our members also take the Savvy spirit to parkruns and races across Yorkshire, around the UK and overseas.
Come and run with us
Our regular club runs meet at Castleford Cricket Club, Savile Park, on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. We run a variety of routes, usually around 5–8 km, with options for different distances and paces.
New to group running? Get in touch before your first visit and we’ll help you find a run that feels right for you.
Already running regularly? Come for the company, build consistency, train towards your next event or simply enjoy running with others.
You’ll also find members at parkrun, arranging social and longer weekend runs, and supporting one another at races. From time to time, we run beginner programmes such as Couch to 5K. When a new programme is planned, we’ll share the details on our website and social channels.

Membership
You’re welcome to try a club run and get to know us before deciding whether to join. Membership helps us support our run leaders and coaches, keep the club welcoming and develop more opportunities for members.
We offer membership options for runners who want England Athletics athlete registration and for those joining us as social members.
The people behind the runs
Our club is shaped by its members and supported by a dedicated team of volunteer run leaders, coaches, captains, committee members and welfare officers.
They bring different experiences and strengths, but share the same aim: to help people feel welcome, enjoy running and reach the goals that matter to them.
